Why don't I see any mosquitoes in the jars?
1. Here’s a quick breakdown of how the system functions:
- The yeast and sugar solution ferments and produces carbon dioxide (CO₂), mimicking human breath, a key signal mosquitoes use to find people.
- The mix also releases natural compounds like lactic acid and ammonia byproducts, which resemble human body odors, helping draw in mosquitoes.
- When mosquitoes are attracted and ingest the liquid, it disrupts their internal systems and leads to their eventual breakdown. Sometimes they remain in the container, but more
2. Replacement:
- Keep an eye on the water level and top it off if evaporation occurs. The water level should stay about halfway in the jar. If the water level is low, simply top off the trap.
- Our proprietary solution is designed to maintain its effectiveness and will not be diluted by adding more water. ○ To maintain maximum effectiveness, it’s recommended to replace the bait every 30 days during the summer months.
